1/2 – 3/4 cup hemp seeds (hulled, can be found at Whole Foods or any natural food store)
2 cups filtered water
optional: ground vanilla bean or cinnamon

Throw all in the blender and blend for a minute or two. Keeps for 5 days or so in the refrigerator. Shake when ready to use. Add frozen strawberries and a little coconut sugar, raw honey, or stevia… makes a great strawberry milkshake!

Hemp seeds are actually a fruit. They have a mild, nutty taste. The seeds are a vegan source of biologically available and easily digested protein and contain all 10 essential amino acids. Three tablespoons of hemp seeds contains 11 grams of protein! Optimizing the Body’s Elimination and Detoxification Pathways

The elimination of toxins has been considered  a mainstay of wellness for centuries. And, it’s really much simpler than is sounds. Here are a few ways to optimize your body’s natural detoxification:

1. Promote Daily Bowel Movements by drinking plenty of water and eating fiber (plant material); use enemas and colonics as necessary.

2.  Use Saunas for Detox… (unless you doctor advises otherwise). Fat tends to hold onto toxins, and it has been shown that regular saunas, help to detoxify and improve health.

3. Healthy Foods Help to Detoxify the Body… the key to detoxification is through lifestyle… exercise, drinking plenty of pure water, and eating foods that promote the elimination of toxins… fruits, vegetable, nuts, and seeds. Try to eat at least 51 percent raw each day. Raw, living foods are packed with nutrients and are easy to digest, providing your body with energy and the power to detoxify.

Ann Wigmore, the founder of the Living Foods Lifestyle, felt that dis-ease is the result of toxins that have built up in the body and a lack of proper nutrients. And, she taught that “Living Foods” are important to achieve and maintain wellness because they are packed with nutrients, easy to digest, and aid in detoxification.

Wheatgrass Has Many Benefits!

Incorporating wheatgrass into your health and wellness may prove to be one of the most effective practices known to humans.  Health pioneer and “mother of wheatgrass”, Ann Wigmore, experienced this first handedly.  Having witnessed her grandmother’s applications of plants, grasses and herbs, when Ann was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 50, she began using wheatgrass as a part of her healing regime along with what is now called the Living Foods Lifestyle ®.  Within a year of committing to the lifestyle, Ann was cancer free.  Having succeeded in her taking back her health, she continued to focus and learn about the healing properties of wheatgrass.  Observation, investigation and promotion of its uses at her reputable co-establisments (the Hippocrates Institute & the Ann Wigmore Natural Health Institute) still exists today.  At each of these healing facilities, the uses of wheatgrass are taught and implemented along with the Living Foods Lifestyle ® as well as for colon cleansing.

Almonds are rich in magnesium, potassium and copper. They are also very high in vitamin E, selenium and calcium, which are anti-oxidants and may reduce the risk of various types of cancer. Almond milk made straight from ground almonds and water is very high in all of these nutrients.
